The Seattle Commission for People with disabilities is hosting the forum: Seattle Police and the Disability Community, on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6-7:30 p.m.

As part of the Seattle Police Department’s plan for community engagement, the facilitated discussion will focus on the following five questions:

  1. What is your top concern about crime and public safety in the disability community?
  2. What can be done together to create a safer community?
  3. What is going well with the relationship between the disability community and the Seattle Police Department?
  4. What needs to improve?
  5. What steps can we take to keep you engaged in building and creating a safer community?

Representatives from the Police Department and Mayor’s Office will be present.

The forum will be at the Northgate Library, 10548 Fifth Ave. N.E.  Bus routes are 16, 41, 66, 67, 68, 75, 242, 347 and 348.  ASL is provided. Please refrain from use of heavy fragrances.
